Strip Tee Challenge – part 2: a patternhack

As you could see two days ago, my daughter and I are in a team challenge with other sewingbloggers and their teenage daughters. Until now every team twinned. Patternhacks are allowed but we didn’t see them yet. Only two teams to go to show their creations and curious what they will come up with…

Zoals je 2 dagen geleden kon zien, doen mijn dochter en ik mee aan een uitdaging met andere naaibloggers en hun tienersdochters. Tot nu toe twinde elk team. Patroonhacks zijn toegelaten maar tot dusver was er niemand die dat deed. Met nog 2 teams te gaan om hun creaties te showen, ben ik benieuwd wat zij in petto hebben.

I decided to create a patternhack by replacing the strip. For this strip I used the same fabricscrap as for our black tees. I made the sleeve longer and I cutted of the shoulderpart of the front and the back of the Tee. That became my new patternpiece for the insert of the schoulders.

Ik besloot een hack te maken op het patroon door de strook te verplaatsen. Voor die strook gebruikte ik een overschotje van dezelfde stof als diegene die we gebruikten voor onze zwarte shirts. Ik maakte de mouw langer, tot 3/4 lengte en knipte het schouderdeel van voor-en achterpand weg. Dit kleefde ik aan elkaar en zo ontstond het nieuwe patroondeel voor de strip op de schouders.

I fell in love with this cranefabric immediately. (I ordered it at de Stoffenkamer.)

Ik werd op slag verliefd op deze vogeltjesstof. (Ik bestelde ze bij de Stoffenkamer.)

When pooring out every little part of it, I could use it for this project. The backpart I had to cut in 2 pieces to fix it, but you hardly see it.
In het seam I putted an elastic.

Door heel hard te puzzelen en het achterpand uit 2 stukken te maken, kon ik alles net uit de stof krijgen. Je ziet bijna niet meer dat het achterpand geen volledig stuk is.
In de zoom verwerkte ik een elastiekje.
